It has been a big week for SRS, our staff and students.
On Monday we saw the start of Year 6 SATS assessments. Congratulations to our Year 6 students who worked incredibly hard throughout the week and showed such a high level of maturity for their assessments. Our thanks to the Year 6 teachers and LSAs who have supported them throughout and ensured our students felt ready and prepared to do their very best.
Our Year 11 and Year 13 students have had their first full week of public examinations and continue to show fantastic commitment to their studies and final revision - keep up this brilliant work.
We also welcomed our Ofsted inspection, with a team of inspectors in the school, across the primary and secondary sites, on Tuesday and Wednesday. During the two days they spent hours observing lots of lessons, looking at students' books, talking to large numbers of students, meeting staff, leaders and governors, and reviewing staff, pupil and parent surveys.
The lead inspector asked me to convey the thanks of the whole inspection team to our staff and students for their engagement throughout the inspection process. They recognised the challenges of the inspection taking place during the same week as the SATs, GCSE and A Level exams, and expressed their commendation of the way students and staff managed this busy week.
Whilst it was a very intense few days, we are very pleased with the outcomes of our inspection and we look forward to sharing the report with you when it is published.
Wishing you all a great weekend.
Mrs Cross
