Congratulations to all the pupils who have been selected for this year’s Sports Leaders Programme! We are delighted to welcome both our new leaders and those continuing their journey from last year. Throughout the year, pupils will develop their leadership, communication and teamwork skills while taking on new responsibilities and supporting sporting opportunities across the school and London. We look forward to seeing them grow in confidence, embrace new challenges and make a positive contribution to school sport. Netball
Year 10 Netball vs All Saints
On Wednesday the year 10 Netball team played against All Saints, despite the weather not being on our side, the girls played extremely well. they started with the A team, who were year 11 girls as this year they play in the U16 borough league. This team were very good, however, our girls held there own and pushed through to the last quarter with high energy and support for one another. After playing the A team they then had to play the B team, this game was extremely close and despite being tired after playing a full match, the girls continued to try their best as they played against the B team. the scored ended up 4-3 to the opposing team with them score the 4th goal in the last 10 seconds of the game.

Year 10 VS Robert Clack
On Monday the Year 10 Netball team played against Robert Clack School in the Borough netball tournament. The girls played really well in the first quarter keeping the score at bay only letting Robert Clack score 3 goals. By the second quarter, we had let a few more goals in but also got a goal in ourselves. by the 3rd and 4th quarter the girls had kept up the energy and moral but unfortunately lost the game.

Year 9 VS Eastbrook
The year 9 Netball team travelled to Eastbrook School for their first game of the season and played fantastically, showing great teamwork, determination and skill throughout the match. A special shout-out to Eva M who scored an incredible 9 goals in her very first game! I am very proud of the team and can’t wait to see what else they achieve throughout the season. Keep up the brilliant work!
Football
U18
The U18 boys produced an excellent all-round performance to secure an impressive 7-0 victory.
From the first whistle, the lads showed great energy, confidence and togetherness, moving the ball well and creating chances through some excellent attacking play. The team’s intensity, movement off the ball and willingness to work for each other made for a very positive performance from start to finish.
The goals came as a result of good team play, with the boy's showing composure in front of goal and making the most of the opportunities they created. It was particularly pleasing to see the team maintain their standards throughout the game, continuing to move the ball with purpose and looking to create chances right until the final whistle.
Defensively, the team were equally impressive, remaining organised, communicating well and working hard to keep a clean sheet. Every player contributed, and the overall performance reflected the hard work the lads have been putting in on the training pitch.
Credit to the opposition, who continued to compete throughout the game, but our boys were excellent and thoroughly deserved the result.
Overall, it was a fantastic team performance, with seven goals, a clean sheet and plenty of positives to take into the next fixture. The lads should be proud of their efforts, but the focus now turns to building on this performance and maintaining these standards in the games ahead.
U12
What a performance from the boys in their National Cup fixture, producing a fantastic comeback to turn a 2–0 deficit into an emphatic 7–2 victory!
The game got off to a difficult start, with the opposition taking advantage to move into a 2–0 lead. However, the boys showed great character and resilience, refusing to let their heads drop and continuing to work hard to find a way back into the game.
A change in formation helped shift the momentum, giving the team greater balance and allowing the boys to play with more confidence and freedom. The response was excellent, with the lads gradually taking control and putting the opposition under increasing pressure.
Getting back to 2–2 proved to be a huge turning point. You could see the belief growing throughout the team, and from that moment onwards, the boys began to play with real confidence, expressing themselves on the ball and playing the type of football we know they are capable of.
With momentum firmly on their side, the goals continued to flow. The team produced some excellent attacking football, with several outstanding long-range strikes adding to what was already becoming a memorable performance. The quality of the finishing was superb, and the confidence running through the team was clear for everyone to see.
From going two goals behind to scoring seven, this was about much more than just the result. It was a demonstration of the boys’ mentality, togetherness and willingness to adapt when things weren’t going their way. The tactical change made a difference, but the players deserve enormous credit for how they responded, trusted the process and continued to work for each other.
National Cup football brings its own pressures, and the way the boys handled adversity before going on to win so convincingly was particularly pleasing. Every player played their part in a brilliant team effort.
VS St Cleres
Sydney Russell suffered a 5-1 defeat against St Cleres in a tough fixture, with Olly scoring the teams only goal. The focus now shifts to working hard, learning from the performance and preparing for the next challenge against Woolwich Boys in the London Cup. The team will be determined to bounce back as this was the competition they made the Quarter finals in last year.
