Dear parents and carers,
Hot weather – uniform adjustments
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your cooperation and support through last week’s unbearable temperatures and the impact that had on our school day.
I think we all welcomed the cooler temperatures over the last two days, and we hoped to be returning to ‘normal’ uniform this week, however the forecast does appear to be changing again, in the direction of temperatures once again rising as we go through the week.
The school day will finish at 3pm however, in the interest of our students’ comfort and to minimise multiple messages for parents, students and staff, the following uniform adjustments will now be in place until the end of term (Friday 17th July):
Uniform adjustments
Primary:
-
Students will wear their normal school polo shirt (grey)
-
Students are allowed to wear their school PE shorts (not joggers) with trainers should they wish
-
Students who choose to wear school knee length skirts/summer uniform or trousers must do so with shoes.
Secondary:
-
Students will wear their normal school polo shirt (year group colour)
-
Students are allowed to wear their school PE shorts (not joggers) with trainers should they wish
-
Students who choose to wear their school knee length skirts or trousers must do so with shoes.
-
Students are not required to bring their blazer to school
Sixth Form:
-
Students are allowed to wear a polo shirt instead of a formal shirt
-
Students are not required to bring a blazer to school
We will continue to monitor physical activities over the coming weeks and make adjustments where needed. We continue to ensure rooms are as ventilated as possible, and we ask students to bring a refillable water bottle into school to make use of the chilled water taps available before and after school as well as during break times.
I will continue to monitor the forecasts and any emerging guidance to determine any further adjustments, but for now I hope this provides clarity.
Yours sincerely,
Clare Cross
Principal
