Yesterday, as part of our St George’s Day celebrations, Mrs Stafford and the Culture Council organised a wonderful programme of activities for the school community to enjoy.
During both breaks, students were invited to decorate the good old Rich Tea biscuit and, of course, enjoy eating their creations afterwards (sadly, without a cup of tea to accompany them!). Students also took part in a creative craft activity, making dragons using paper plates, tissue paper, and a variety of other materials.
In the evening, we held a St George’s Day quiz and raffle, alongside additional craft activities for children, including making their own St Georges. The evening was made even more enjoyable with the welcome addition of delicious scones with jam and cream. The event was open to members of the SRS PTA, students and their families, as well as SRS staff, and it was lovely to see so many people come together.
Thank you to the PTA members who attended, our students and their families, and to Mr Barton, Mr Dovey, Mr Dimakos, Mr & Mrs McEvoy, and Mrs Taylor for attending and helping to make the event so special.
We would also like to thank the Culture Council students, who worked tirelessly to keep the younger children engaged with the craft activities throughout the evening.
Finally, a huge thank you and well done to Mrs Stafford for organising such a successful and enjoyable event.
