This week has seen our Y1 phonics and Y4 MTC (multiplication tables check) assessments, as well as continued GCSE and A-Level exams and also Y10 end of year exams – our students are working hard! Across all of these we are seeing our young people trying their very best and really showing the progress they have made in their learning – well done to you all.
We are now just days away from the end of GCSE and A-Level exams, a timely opportunity to thank our incredible exams team who work tirelessly to ensure every exam runs smoothly as as expected.
It has been wonderful to welcome current Year 6 students for their transition meetings this week as they get ready to move into secondary in September. My thanks to the extensive team of staff who are part of these meetings to ensure our new children and families are supported at this important time of transition.
This week I am also delighted to introduce a new member of our Senior Leadership Team, Ms Afreedi, who joins us as Assistant Vice-Principal (Teaching, Learning, Assessment & CPDL). Ms Afreedi will have whole school oversight of Literacy as we develop this area of our practice as one of our school improvement priorities for the year ahead.
After a busy week we have a busy weekend ahead too! Tonight the Euros kick off and on Sunday many will be celebrating Eid and Father’s Day. A big thank you to all the dads, grandads, uncles and important men in our families and friends for all you do.
Wishing you all a special weekend of celebrations and relaxation, whatever you are doing.
Mrs Cross
